After my shadow is done, I run the Orpheus eyeliner in my tightline (the little flap of skin by your eyelashes) and a thin line on my lash line.Well if you really want to gain fluency, you are going to have to build up the number of idiomatic expressions that you understand and know how to use. Finally, I get some Brule on the MAC 227 and run it under my eyebrow. Taking Soft Brown, I use the MAC 222 to blend out the Satin Taupe to soften the edges. I use the MAC 239 to place Naked Lunch all over my lid, then with the MAC 217, I apply Satin Taupe in my crease. Clockwise from the top left: Brule, Soft Brown, Satin Taupe, Naked Lunch. After the primer, this quad contains all the colors I cannot go without (as evidenced by the fact that you can see the metal pan in 3 of the 4). When I forget to do this step, my shadows crease and fade after just a few hours of wear. I use my ring finger and spread it from my lash line to my brow bone. My favorite is the Painterly Paint Pot by MAC. When people ask my why their eye shadow isn’t working like they thought it would, I ask if they’re using a primer. I am a big advocate for eyes hadow primer. Okay, let’s move onto what I put on my eyes. Finally, the MAC 239 brush that I use for applying the lid color. I use this brush to blend out my crease color so there aren’t any harsh lines.

I’ve had this brush for about 5 years and it has yet to fail me. The MAC 217 is one of the best crease brushes I’ve tried (a close second is the Sigma E25). The next one is the oldest brush I own and everyone should own it too. I have no idea how this works but if you happen to take your eye shadow too high into the crease, this brush takes the color back down and makes it more wearable. It is the MAC 227 brush that I use to highlight under my brow bone. Next is a magic brush that I think every makeup lover should own. This is a beautiful brown with a subtle gold shimmer that gives it a little something extra.

The first item in this jar is an eyeliner by MAC called Orpheus.

These four brushes are just a small selection of all the brushes in my collection. As long as you take care of your brushes (spot clean weekly, deep clean monthly), they will last a very long time. In my experience, brushes are an investment and most of the time, the price correlates with the quality. Well sit back and read all about what products I use on my eyes every day to create a more natural look. Yesterday I wrote about what products and tools I use on my face every day. It’s Friday! Today’s post is part two of my every day essentials.
